Stellar Solutions is seeking a Mission Assurance Specialist to support the development of a premier space telescope system. This position will serve as a technical mentor and key contributor to the program’s mission assurance success by evaluating current processes, helping establish tailored solutions, and supporting program-wide quality and anomaly resolution efforts.

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a mission assurance mentoring organization
  • Review the current Mission Assurance Plan for the Space Telescope Program and suggest standards and methods to adopt, tailor, and/or comply with
  • Aid in development of tailored or new processes aligned with the program’s cost and schedule constraints
  • Advise on best practices for the development of space hardware, including electrical, optical, and mechanical components
  • Support software mission assurance development and process integration
  • Identify and provide key training related to mission assurance, as needed
  • Serve as a go-to resource throughout the project lifecycle for mission assurance questions
  • Assist in anomaly investigations and root cause analysis as needed
  • Support continuous improvement of mission assurance systems and processes
  • Help establish metrics to assess the performance of the program’s mission assurance methods
  • Provide quarterly status reports on the development and performance of the mission assurance framework and inventory-related systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline)
  • Experience in mission assurance, quality assurance, or systems engineering in aerospace or related high-reliability environments
  • Familiarity with space hardware/software development lifecycle
  • Ability to communicate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience working on space telescope or high-precision space systems
  • Knowledge of NASA, DoD, or commercial space mission assurance standards

Within the first year, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the mission assurance framework for a groundbreaking space telescope—delivering tailored processes, supporting anomaly resolution, and producing a set of performance metrics that will guide the program through launch and beyond.
