Stellar Solutions is seeking a Journeyman Software Systems Architect, to contribute to the development, integration, and operationalization of advanced software and space-related systems. This role is essential to helping our customers achieve mission success while leveraging your experience to drive technical excellence across software and systems architecture. The ideal candidate will also:
Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and system owners, effectively communicating complex software and security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management.
Create, document, and communicate software system architecture to meet evolving program and mission feature requirements.
Support program development from prototype through operational fielding in collaboration with government program management.
Apply systems engineering principles to manage requirements, design integration, and lifecycle deliverables for space-related software and systems.
Required skills:
5+ years of experience on a space-related Major Defense Acquisition Program (space, ground, software, or hardware).
3+ years of experience in systems engineering.
Experience mapping system requirements to physical and functional architecture.
Experience conducting configuration management of system configurations.
Proficiency in developing technical specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), integration plans, system behavior diagrams, sequence diagrams, and network diagrams.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to users, leadership, and engineers.
Experience producing documentation for mission partners and eliciting user feedback.
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and agile software development processes.
Familiarity with systems engineering standards (e.g., IEEE 15288.1 and 15288.2).
Skilled with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Highly motivated, dynamic work ethic, and a strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission.
Ability to independently construct systems-engineering deliverables from varied data sources.

10+ years of experience on a space-related Major Defense Acquisition Program.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering.
Experience supporting or conducting space system design and verification events (PDR, CDR, TRR, SVR).
Experience with high-complexity data systems and data management.
Demonstrated systems engineering, integration, and test experience on space systems.
Familiarity with Air Force ISP Guide, JCIDS Manual, CJCSI 5123.01G, DODI 8330.01, AFMAN 33-407, and DoDAF.
Experience managing delivery through security accreditation and risk management processes.
Skilled in managing technical schedules using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02.
Ability to self-manage tasks and create systems-engineering related work products with minimal direction.
TS/SCI clearance.
Master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical field.
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP).

This position is full-time, on site in El Segundo, CA
The typical salary range for this position is USD $135,000 - $175,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all in addition to salary).
Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction.
