Stellar Solutions is seeking a skilled System Engineer with MBSE experience to support the Battle Management, Command, Control and Communications (SSC/BC), Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SSC/SZ) portfolios. A successful candidate should be collaborative and a problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a high-profile, fast-paced environment. The candidate will apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with clarity to management and executive leadership.

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

This position provides a unique opportunity to provide onsite support to the development of the space BMC3 and SDA capabilities. The position’s primary duty is development of the Spec Tree Model Architecture and associated Cameo models. In this role, the successful candidate will lead technical reviews of the Spec Tree model and coordinate closely with government customers and FFRDC counterparts. The ideal candidate will provide support to include teleconference meetings, face-to-face meetings, program strategy, and reviewing program documentation. 

 

Responsibilities Include:  

  • Develop Spec Tree Model Architecture for ‘deep dive’ ability in the spec tree
  • Collaborate with the Senior Systems Engineer to validate model with portfolio level requirements and program level integration specs.
  • Decompose the portfolio architecture into logical domains (e.g., sensors, data transport, C2 nodes) and assign to model packages.
  • Verify completed diagrams with FFRDC counterparts and program SMEs
  • Lead technical reviews of the Spec Tree model
  • Develop SV-1 & SV-2 style model views based on program System Engineering documents.
  • Publish formal model releases, complete with change logs & validation assessment
  • Technical briefings on model development internally
  • Review, integrate, and certify contributions from junior modelers, ensuring error-free merges and version control.
  • Mentor junior MBSE modelers and review work

 

Required skills:

  • At least 3 years of system engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of MBSE experience and 1 year of utilizing Cameo for System modeling.
  • Ability to work on complex technical problems and provide solutions in concert with Government acquisition strategies, policies and instructions
  • Performs well given consultative direction toward pre-determined long-range goals and objectives
  • Self-initiator who can identify and pursue courses of action and obtain results without instruction
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently in oral and written form; able to brief problems/status and recommend solutions/strategies to senior management and leadership. Comfortable presenting to military and government customers.

Preferred Skills:

  • At least 5 years of system engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of MBSE experience.
  • Experience with agile/Kanban development practices.
  • Experience with BMC3 capabilities and/or missile warning/mission track systems.

 

Education, Security Clearance & Other Requirements: 

 

  • BS in Engineering or relevant discipline and 3 years or more experience.
  • U.S. Citizen with current eligibility for TS/SCI clearance
  • This position is full-time, on site in El Segundo, CA and may require travel up to 20% of time within the continental United States

 

Compensation:

The typical annual salary range for this position is approximately, USD $120,000 - $145,000. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, profit sharing / retirement plan and other benefits (all in addition to annual base salary).

Deliverable(s)

Deliverables could be in the format of a report, software file, briefing, spreadsheet, or other document as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction. The nature of this work will, at times, require quick responses to stringent deadlines and always in a high quality, professional manner.
